A wet cat food for kittens up to 4 months, during the first growth phase. This creamy mousse helps your kitten to make the transition from milk to solid food.
Royal Canin believes that a cat's diet should take into consideration all the parameters of life, such as age, breed, life style, physiology and individual circumstances. Royal Canin Babycat Instinctive is a healthy cat food based on Royal Canin's commitment to the highest quality and includes the Macro Nutrient Profile intuitively preferred by kittens in their first growth phase up to 4 months of age.
Royal Canin Kitten Instinctive Mousse is a food especially formulated for kittens in this first phase of growth which is an important transitional period for kittens.
- Kittens have a specific Macro Nutrient Profile. Royal Canin Kitten Babycat Instinctive Mousse is based on the Macro Nutrient Profile which kittens prefer during their first development phase and in particular kittens which are still being nursed. Your kitten will instinctively choose this food, leading to long-term acceptance and this is important because no matter how healthy the food is, it's no good if your cat won't eat it!
- Weaning a kitten from milk to solid food is a sensitive phase and can lead to digestive problems. Royal Canin Kitten Babycat Instinctive Mousse is a healthy cat food which provides all necessary nutrients for optimal health and vitality.
- Kittens which are nursing have plenty of maternal antibodies. During the 4th and 12th week there is a decrease of maternal antibodies in the kitten's immune system while the kitten's own immune system is gradually developing. Royal Canin Babycat Instinctive Mousse is rich in mannan-oligosaccharides and a complex of antioxidants (vitamin E, vitamin C, taurine and lutein) all of which promote the formation of antibodies which help to strengthen your kitten's immune system.
- During the initial growth period your kitten will get its baby teeth. Royal Canin Babycat Instinctive Mousse cat food has a creamy, mousse –like texture which helps your little kitten to switch from milk to solid food.
The instinctive preference – the Macro Nutrient Profile: Royal Canin Instinctive cat food has a Macro Nutrient Profile which is formulated to suit the specific life phase and individual situation of your pet. The Macro Nutrient Profile influences the distribution of nutrients which provide energy. It represents optimal proportions of proteins, fats and carbohydrates which help to ensure long-term acceptance. The specific Nutrient Profile of a cat varies with age, but also with its physiological state (e.g. pregnancy, lactation).
Cats are able to recognise and prefer food which matches their individual Nutrient Profile most closely. The Macro Nutrient Profile concept is based on this as well as drawing on Royal Canin's extensive knowledge to help ensure exceptional, long-term acceptance of the food. Cats won't get bored with the Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition products so it is not necessary to alternate varieties and flavours from meal to meal, especially since taste plays only a small part in your cat's choice of food.

Changing from one food to another should be done gradually so your cat's intestinal flora has sufficient time to adapt to a new food. Mix Royal Canin wet food in gradually increasing proportions into your cat's existing diet over a period of 7 days. This gradual change lowers the risk of diarrhoea. Excessive food intake may also cause digestive problems.
Please note that these are only guidelines. Actual feeding amounts should be adjusted according to your cat's age, activity levels and circumstances. Monitor your cat's weight and adjust feeding amounts as required. Fresh water should be provided at all times.
